What's Your Name
I see that according to the National Calendar, today is "National Name Yourself Day." Oh my gosh! What would you name yourself? Furthermore....how does this become a national holiday?! It's kind of crazy how much thought goes into a name. When we're naming our own kids we think of things like, does it sound good with our last name? Should we use a family name? Does it rhyme with anything that our kid could be made fun of? My parents chose my name based on some childhood friends that my mom knew...three sisters named Heidi, Honey and Holly. Could you imagine if she named me HONEY??? Oh the jokes! When I was in elementary school I wasn't particularly fond of my name. I didn't know anyone else with that name so it seemed strange.
